About Bengua Map, Feng Shui
The Bagua Map is a foundational tool in Feng Shui, an ancient Chinese art of harmonizing spaces to promote well-being and prosperity. The term “Bagua” (八卦) translates to “Eight Trigrams,” which originate from the I Ching (Book of Changes). Each trigram represents a specific aspect of life, and these are mapped onto a grid that guides how spaces should be arranged to balance energy, or Chi (Qi).
What is the Bagua Map?
The Bagua Map is an energy map used to analyze the energy flow of a space—whether it’s a home, office, or even a desk. It divides the space into nine sections (eight outer areas and one central area), each corresponding to a specific life area.

How to Use the Bagua Map
- Align the Map with Your Space:
- Place the Career & Life Path area (bottom center) at the entrance or main door of your home, room, or workspace.
- Overlay the Map:
- Imagine or physically draw the Bagua grid over the space, dividing it into nine equal sections.
- Assess Energy Flow:
- Analyze how each section corresponds to the actual space (e.g., clutter in the “Wealth” area may symbolize financial stagnation).
- Enhance Each Area:
- Use colors, elements, shapes, or symbols to activate or balance the energy in each section. For example:
- Add green plants (Wood element) in the Family & Health area.
- Use red candles (Fire element) in the Fame & Reputation area.
Western vs. Classical Feng Shui
- Western Feng Shui (BTB Bagua Map):
- The map is aligned with the front door, regardless of the cardinal directions.
- Classical Feng Shui:
- The Bagua is aligned with the compass directions, requiring a compass reading of the home’s orientation.
Tips for Using the Bagua Map
- Keep the space clean and uncluttered to allow energy to flow freely.
- Balance the five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) in each area for harmony.
- Personalize the enhancements with meaningful symbols and items.
By applying the Bagua Map, you can create a harmonious environment that supports your goals and well-being in various aspects of life.
